The blonde kid steps around Hitoshi like he isn’t even there. “Oh, man,” he says, in on some cosmic joke that the rest of them are shamefully unaware of. “Guys, look who it is.”
The line of Midoriya’s shoulders goes taut as a wire. “Hi,” he says, but he’s got his face angled down, not quite meeting the other kid’s eyes.
Like he’s waiting for something terrible to happen.
As it turns out, Midoriya has more in common with him than Hitoshi ever realized.
My fave rare pair atm is shindeku mainly because I really like how well these two could get along, and I’m looking forward to future interactions between these two. They’re both two sides of the same coin and it’s a really endearing trope when you think about how similar their struggles are but how they can’t really communicate this to each other because deku can’t say anything.
