i think that part of the reason why i struggle with modern au fics of one piece is that luffy doesn’t fit into any other world to me like the boy is too damn chaotic to ever go to school???? he would get bored and jump out a window in like ten minutes and there is no way he stays in one place???????? like seriously pirate is the only career that makes any sense for him but only in the adventurous sense of the series itself so like. maybe he could go explore a rainforest or something???? idk what he’d do but school????? seriously y’all
