like…. i think Doflamingo has a disconnect between actual love and caring and what he thinks is love and caring. (i honestly think he’s a sociopath but i don’t really know enough on the subject to say for certain.)
imo, he likes his family as much as he likes his favorite shirt. he’s fond of the shirt, but he’s not gonna die to protect it, because it’s replaceable, but he will at least try to protect it, because he likes it. does that make sense??
and im not sure he still likes Law. more like he’s desperate for Law to make him immortal. he’s tried, and successfully managed, to emotionally manipulate, abuse, and hurt Law for this whole arc and it seems to me that he just wants to use Law for his own purposes. i mean, that was literally his intent when Law was 13 (”I’ll raise him so he’ll die for me”). sure he saw a bit of himself in Law, but because of Corazon that part is gone. not that it really stopped him from wanting to use Law to gain immortality when he was just a child.
i think he’s frustrated with Law because Law is constantly going against him for his ridiculous brother, and that Law could’ve been his greatest subordinate because they were so much alike before, and he’s tried this whole arc to keep Law alive enough so he could perform the immortality surgery on Doffy. basically, i think Doffy is hung up on Law’s wasted potential instead of missing Law himself.

nope i refuse to accept it because 1. its his fuckin canon eyecolor and it looks way better then the typical stoic badass grey eyed anime character, 2. gold eyes are my favorite eye color ever and as an artist can definitely say it contrasts really well with his blue hair and tan skin and it makes all those colors pop against each other nicely, especially with this black clothing, and 3. brown/brown spectrum eyes are very rarely appreciated and the fact that a lot of characters in OP who had brown eyes in the manga (Robin, Law) have blue/blueish eyes in the anime is frustrating and gives the impression that brown eyes are too typical or boring to be thought of as a first color choice (even if that isn’t the intention, since both those characters showed up in the anime before they had colors)

like i know sanji swears more than most in terms of use of “kuso”, but i mean like localization of crude/informal speech patterns.

shanks often finds himself referring to luffy as his son & getting funny looks and giggles from his crew whenever that happens
not to get too nsfw in here but. let’s just say shanks has legendary abilities other than swordsmanship and haki.
shanks has tried to jump into water to rescue crewmates. many times. even though his swimming has been compromised due to the loss of his arm. like i said, he forgets things. the result is always benn having to jump after him & rescuing both the crewmate and shanks. he always scolds shanks for being such an airhead but he knows it’ll get him nowhere.
shanks is extremely protective over his crewmates. even the younger, less powerful ones. i mean, we all saw how he defended coby back in marineford; can you imagine what he’d do for the people who are like family to him?
shanks is the best yonko and thats not a headcanon, thats straight up canon
