About Hina being ‘only’ a rear admiral… I think it makes perfect sense for her. Smoker has spent the last 2 years in the New World, basically fixing the Marines worst base, presumably very active catching pirates. Plus, publicly, he is the guy who caught Crocodile (even if the higher ups know it’s false, they’d have to act like it’s true). Hina’s been in Paradise, probably around Alabasta for the last 2 years. Plus, physically speaking, while Hina is strong, Smoker is likely stronger than her.

Anyways, like I was saying, I think it makes sense that Hina is a rear admiral. I feel like the only reason a lot of people want Hina a vice admiral now is only because she’s a woman, and I hate when female characters get reduced down to basically their vagina (Not that I think you’re doing that, obviously, but so very many do, and I’m getting sick of it). Plus, the series isn’t over yet. Who knows? Hina could still be promoted. Well, I just wanted to say that, in regards to Hina.

And about the male fans, I’ve personally never really seen that. I didn’t see it 5 years ago when I was last in the fandom, and I don’t really see it now. Eh. BUT NOW ABOUT SALLY. I’m so excited for her! I really have wanted a royal who isn’t evil, like Charloss, or a saint, like Vivi. One who’s more ‘normal’, with both good parts, and some bad. Mostly, because I want to see how the Revolutionaries react to her. Especially Sabo! I can’t wait for them to meet! Well, thanks for reading!

Thanks, thats what I thought something similar about that too, Smoker is just much more prominent and important to the story and I suppose he’s stronger than Hina, and yes she’s totally gonna be promoted eventually, so her rank now is really ok with me, but please watch your words when you say the fandom wants her to be promoted and be prominent because she’s a woman. One Piece is quite sexist in many ways so it’s understandable when fans (me too) want the few female characters who are total badasses who take no shit like Hina to be promoted and be more important. She’s not being ‘reduced to her vagina’ in the way you make it sound, she’s simply admired for being a female who made it that far in the male dominated marine world, same with Tsuru.

Hmmm about the guy fans, it’s probably again me but really I’ve seen some gross shit in youtube comments, forums, facebook comments etc…

Like dudes where faster than Kizaru to insult Big Mom and say how weak she is and how she’s only a Yonko because she of the political connections she made and not because she’s a powerful fighter while completely ignoring the canon conversation of the Gorosei where they clearly say that she’s one of the only people who are able to stop Blackbeard and I really don’t think Blackbeard is gonna be stopped with goddamn political connections… besides those where the same dudes who were already sucking Kaido’s dick upon hearing his name without any indications of what powers he might have.

Oh yes and back to Sally, I kinda hope shes sort of naive and a little ignorant at first like don’t get me wrong she’s still nice and accepting everything but she’s sort of like Donquixote Homing only that she gets the grip of how horrible nobles are later and just stands up against her own people, saying what they do is wrong and that it needs to be stopped

You’re welcome, I appreciate a lot when people talk to me about meta and everything 😀

drake is an English surname derived from the Old Norse given name Draki or the Old English given name Draca both meaning “dragon” so its possible drake could have connections to the revolutionary army and its possible that drake was trained by garp ( it would be fitting)

blenheims:

also something big must have happened for drake to have left the marines and become a pirate which is the move his father made

Drake having a connection to the revolutionary army would be hella cool but then again I doubt it, mainly because Drake defected from the marines in order to become a pirate, for whatever reason, if his goal is reforming the marines or society than why not just join the revolutionary army or mysteriously pilgrim through the world like Kuzan?

I do not believe Drake was just so hellbent on freedom and life that he chose piracy, Drake is not that kind of man, maybe he’s vigorously looking for something or somebody? No idea, but yeah he’s by my favorite supernova and I want to find out as soon as possible.

And Drake being trained by Garp…That would be cool too, but I don’t know I have a feeling we would’ve seen a panel at least of that where Garp expresses his dislike over the actions of a certain redhaired pirate that turns into a T-rex at will, after all Garp cares a lot for the people he took under his wing, so not having seen anything about that yet doesn’t feel real

Thoughts on One Piece 906

[Me, while reading this chapter]

Boy, what a ride…

Once again Oda proves us he’s a great story teller, and his amazing ability to convey emotions through his panels is particularly strong this chapter. Seriously, it’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a chapter as much as I did this week. It’s was a nostalgic but so well executed that feels refreshing and exciting. I know Oda isn’t very fond of taking Luffy away of the spotlight but as I already mentioned I’m really enjoying this Arc, and I think that after the past two prolonged arcs that Dressrosa and Whole Cake ended up being, he’s enjoying changing the pace too.

Now, to the fun part, my favourite parts of the chapter—

1)Contrasts

Look at this, what a magnificent panel, we can see and feel the magnificence of Marie Geoise (still getting used to the change).

And then…

We have this heartbreaking panel, full of emotion. This particular panel is a reminder of the cruelty of the world government, and of the World Nobles, it’s a reminder of how much he hate these institutions, but even more importantly of why we hate them. And it’s amazing, because we’ve been so excited about seeing Marie Geoise and the Reverie and old beloved characters that we might have overseen or forgotten that slavery happens in Marie Geoise. That this so proclaimed Holy Land is a glorified portion of earth filled with self-entitled people who are under the protection of an institution as corrupt and old fashioned as themselves.

So Oda throwing this panel feels like a bucket of cold water waking us up. “Like, yeah cool, you’re excited about finally getting here, but this is basically the origin of the evil on this world, have a suffering slave…”

2) Luffy’s Fanclub [Not a Bartolomeo’s associated]

In spite that I’m not really fond of Rebecca and that I’m actually quite fed up with her after the prolonged drama of Dressrosa, I actually liked the interaction between the Rescued Princess® gang. It was a pure and funny interaction.

Just look at those faces, they’re so proud of being #TeamLuffy. Dalton was the cherry on top tho:

3)The foreshadowing

Besides of providing a funny scene, I can’t help but think this will be a problem in the future, not only with Shirahoshi, but with the rest of #TeamLuffy. The Strawhats and particularly Luffy will offuckingcourse be a topic of discussion during the Reverie, and I can’t help but feel that perhaps someone won’t be able to keep their mouths shuts if people start attacking Luffy. Somehow I feel that Shirahoshi will be the chosen one to break the silence tho, she’s much more less diplomatic that her fellows royalties and damn, maybe I’m reading too much into it, but this also goes hand in hand with the bad feeling I have about the Gyojins and a sad outcome for their participation in the Reverie.

And panels like these don’t do much to calm my fear. Just like I said last week, Shirahoshi and the Gyojins are endangered and I swear if something bad happens to them I will riot. They have suffered enough and deserve happiness, not being chased like an animal zoo by scumbag like Charloss.

About that ending tho, I really don’t know what to think or say. Why the heck would a Straw Hat be the oh so precious treasure of the Holy Land? Is it perhaps related to the Will of D? And if it is, could it be it is related to like their old lider ir something of the sorts? But even if it did it still doesn’t make sense, cause let’s say that okay, the D. Family or tribe or whatever the hell they were, were the original rulers of the world and also lived atop the Red Line, that doesn’t make and old hat (no matter who it belonged to) a treasure, going by this long line of assumption and ‘if’ the Strawhats would be more like a trophy not a treasure.

I almost forgot about the absolute best part of the chapter: Dr. Kureha proudly wearing her son’s bounty on a T-Shirt while in a formal even hosted by the World Goverment. How cool is that?! If that ain’t love, then I don’t know what love is.
