I’m rereading DOS and I feel really, really bad for Kakashi. It’s like he has to rush to the hospital every time he gets back from a mission :’D Way to stroke that PTSD and depression. But it’s really sweet(and tragic) that he’s always one of the first people she see’s when she’s in hospital. Those two need to have some time together that doesn’t involve death or pointy objects. They could… chat about icha icha?

Kakashi never gets an easy time of it. Poor thing. He tries his hardest, but by this point in his life I think he’s very used to failure (at least in particular ways) and his team really don’t make things easy on him.

[that doesn’t involve death or pointy objects] is a lot to ask of ninja really, isn’t it?

So, my view on Shikako is that she is a mature teenager dish to her reincarnation, but not as mature/grown up as she thinks she is, partially due to the developments of her body. Would you say that is an acurate view?

dosbysilverqueen:

Sounds about right. You can’t say she’s still her ‘adult’ age, when her body is young and developing and people are treating her like a child and she’s acting like a child either naturally or purposefully… and its certainly not a continuing count like I’ve seen some people suggest ‘adult life + 13 ninja years’…

It does result in Shikako having higher standards for herself than others might.

Did the Sharingan get retconned in the sense of what it takes to trigger it? In early Naruto Sasuke says it’s rare, but like… Every named Uchiha has one. Could it be that it just became more rare over time because of less bloodshed? It seems like it got retconned in Boruto all together with Sarada’s as it’s just any strong emotion rather then trauma.

The Sharingan is rare like the ANBU are elite.

Some Dude: Hokage-sama! The village has been attacked!

Hiruzen, doing calligraphy or some shit: How many ANBU are lying dead?

Dude: About six, in a creepy panning shot with a discordant chord!

Hiruzen, sucking on the tip of his brush like a weirdo: Ahhhh, yes. Despite the fact that we only graduate 9 genin per year, and only promoted one genin to chuunin in the last exams, six of our most elite soldiers dying is merely slightly alarming, because after all, none of them had names. This threat will call for… *camera zooms in* characters with names.

Basically, if you’re an Uchiha with a name you got the Sharingan.

Yeah the whole “strong feeling” bullshit is part of the cavalcade of bullshit in Naruto Gaiden: Scarlet Spring. What, Sarada is the first Uchiha to ever experience enormous joy and expectation? Really? Really?

The first Naruto Gaiden manga is so awful, and the second Naruto Gaiden (Full Moon) is so aggressively awful, that I’ve come to the point of headcanoning that Kishimoto actively hates his own creation and is trying to kill it. I don’t actually believe that it’s true, but it is more satisfying than the alternative, which is that Kishimoto actually thinks he’s produced a good story about admirable heroes.
