Well yes as I said, Hinata herself described her actions as selfish, but in that sense, I could say the exact same thing about Naruto and Sakura continuously chasing after Sasuke to bring him back to the village, despite the latter making it crystal clear that he no longer wanted anything to do with them.

Besides, it’s not as if Hinata could have foreseen that Naruto would go 6 Tails because of her actions and lose control. She can’t exactly be held accountable for Naruto potentially becoming a threat to the village when…

1. No one knew that her actions would result in Naruto losing control.
2. Naruto tapping into Kurama’s power was actually to the benefit of the village in the long run, because it triggered the events which led to Naruto meeting Minato.

All she wanted to do in the moment was to help, save and protect Naruto in whatever way she could, and it’s what she wanted to do. That’s not a bad thing.
