ahaha their motherfucking aesthetic, i mean, Law is (pardon me) tall, dark and handsome, tattooed and all that and Luffy is basically a tiny walking sun. They contrast each other so well, that they just look fucking good together.
So there’s that. But what else? I think they fit together emotionally extremely well. Law might exude confidence and power but we all now that boy had it hard. I like to think of him as a little emotionally unstable, like he needs someone sometimes to remind him that life isn‘t as bad as he might think it is. I mean, his whole purpose in life was basically getting revenge on doflamingo. That’s kinda sad. I mean man, that gotta suck. And Luffy is just the kind of guy, who I think, could make Law forget his worries even for just a moment, and I feel like Law appreciates that more than he shows.
But Luffy ain’t just sunshine either is he? It was Law who saw him at his lowest and worst, and who made sure Luffy even survived. I mean let’s be real: if it weren’t for Law saving him, Luffy would probably be dead and vice versa. Law would be crushed underneath Doflamingos foot if it weren’t for Luffy.
They both lost people that are important to them, they have faced the
same harships and I think they understand each other because of that.
They are both captains and so they are equal in that matter, which I like a lot. They have fought together, they are fucking powerful together, and they know it too.
I like the little things about them. How Luffy calls Law “Torao” even though he actually knows his name, how Law smirked when Luffy hit that asshole celestial dragon, like “yo boy u crazy af but i like it”. How Luffy sits close to him on board of the thousand sunny, how they tried to protect each other in Dressrosa and how Law is so hopelessly done with Luffy half the time but not enough to actually get rid of him.
It’s easy to write fics about them, because they work in almost any au, it’s fun to twist their characters and bring out facets of their personality. I like writing about them and i like reading about them too.
Oda gave us plenty of reason to ship lawu but srsly, Law just has a huge fuckin crush on Luffy and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Was it ever explained why Law stuck his sword into the ground next to Luffy’s bed?

Law was giving Luffy his respect for the death of his brother, as you can see also in the funeral of Whitebeard and Ace when Shanks crew and Marco’s friends and put their swords beside their graves
