I like to think that in a Modern AU of the Straw Hats, they’d all get together for thanksgiving because 95% of them don’t have families and their tight-knit group of friends is as close to family as they’ve got. Ace, Sabo, and Nojiko would all get invited to the Straw Hat Thanksgiving, too, of course, and so it’s just a big ‘ol group of orphans not being alone on Thanksgiving.
And maybe one year Luffy invites a guy he ran into named Law because he found out that he didn’t have a family to spend the day with either. Law, stupidly, agrees for some reason and has no idea what the hell is in store for him at the Straw Hat+ Thanksgiving because, really, nothing can prepare anyone for what it’s like at the Straw Hat+ Thanksgiving.
