One of the (many) things I love about the alliance between Law and Luffy is that from the moment Luffy saves Law from his capture, he doesn’t leave him behind for a moment. We know how Luffy usually is when he locks-on to the “Big Bad” he’s destined to overtake: he goes for them straight, while he leaves the rest to the others. What happens here though is that during the whole way towards Mingo’s place, Luffy doesn’t mention even once that “Law should leave it to him” or that “he leaves Law to xyz’s care while he goes ahead”. He takes Law under his arm and runs, protects him while he’s cuffed, and when he’s finally free from the kairouseki, they continue running together. While Luffy might not be following any of Law’s constructed plans too closely, Luffy still follows Law in the way he lets Law follow him. There’s an unvoiced respect in his behaviour; respect to their alliance and Law’s person which later becomes even more obvious in the fight when he gives space to Law’s wishes and at the end, even protects them. #STRAWHEARTFEELS
