some weird alternate timeline where overwatch is just a really weird and complicated webcomic & tumblr vas scramble to give every character the most obnoxious voice

bitey this is just homestuck

see but that means that in that timeline Homestuck is the incredibly popular shooter with a huge cast. except sometimes the game doesnt get updated for 3 years and Vriska is inexplicably the best hero in the game and Hussie refuses to fix it haha

jacobtheloofah:

homestuck is easily the worst possible webcomic to convince someone to get into if they only know other webcomics

“oh so how long did it run?”

for 7 years over 7 acts

“wow! so like one act per year?”

nah the 6th act ran for like 5 years and then the 7th act is literally one page

“oh, well how long is it by pages?”

like over 10,000 pages, and a bunch of them are fucking loaded with just a bunch of reading

“holy fuck! well at least did it have a good resolution?”

not really, the whole point of the story was that stories don’t matter and the whole ending was meant to self-awaredly retcon everything to be good. plus some of us are convinced it isn’t even over yet.

“okay well at least tell me it’s easy to follow”

turn back now my friend

I think i figured out the layout of Striders’ apartment. jabberwockyx layouts [1] [2] and wiki article [3] were rather helpful.

At one point narration says Bro’s room is part of the living room.

There’s some mildly weird stuff going on with Dave’s wardrobe, ceiling thing in the kitchen as they basically live on the highest floor, and really weird stuff with the stairs to the roof.

Also there’s probably some kind of closet next to the bathroom.

Alpha Dirk’s room is the same one as Dave’s.

snakepeople:

the best thing in all of homestuck is when we saw what the kids would be like if they didn’t play sburb and grew up, jade, rose, and dave all became dedicated anti fascists who literally rebelled against a dictatorship and murdered important members of the regime, while john literally was just A Stand Up Comedian

alpha john was probably a saboteur, because that is the sweetest prank of all. he was just good enough never to get caught, in part because he doesn’t have the strilonde urge to stab one’s enemies in the eyes and ride their corpses down a waterfall

every time i see a post about homestuck i’m more and more confused and more scared to try and read it

Question

hellobeau:

hellobeau:

whats the significance of Act 1 being called Kansas City Shuffle? I know the term is already relevant to Homestuck but I can’t decide how it actually applies to Hiveswap.

and for those who don’t know a Kansas City Shuffle is, quote: “

a con game that depends on the mark believing (correctly) that the conman is trying to con him, but being incorrect about how it’s going to be done.

@becnoir thats a good take! But we still don’t have an explanation for the serpents or the “snake people” you can see outside Jude’s tree house, so I don’t know if Jude has correctly guessed that the serpents are a distraction for a snake people to get to the portal, or if there is some other plot we aren’t aware of yet. That part is still firmly shrouded in mystery, and could be until Hauntswitch? idk

other thoughts are it could be very literal, Kansas City Shuffle being literal “its two people shuffling from one city to another”

or it could be Meta, with us guessing things right away with Act 1 and having the rug pulled out from under us
