izukutodo:

I finally actually read all available chapters of BNHA. And now I have to vent a bit…

I love this manga, I really do (I wouldn’t have made this blog if I didn’t). In fact I only have one – but major – problem with it and that’s that shitstain called bakugo. I just can’t wrap my head around the fact that even though this character’s introduction shows his four-year-old self, beating the crap out of our protagonist, he still gets to be a main character. Bullies usually get vilified – as it should be – but for some reason, this bully gets glorified by Horikoshi-sensei, the fandom and – worst of all – even his #1 victim, Izuku. (Also; funny how the fandom seems to collectively hate Mineta but then turns around and kisses bakugo’s ass even though he is comparatively so much worse.)
It’s utterly appalling. And I will never be okay with this character or this kind of writing for a character. Just “yikes”.

Other than that… I actually like most characters but
I love Shouto and Izuku to death. And I also like Chisaki, I guess… cuz he intrigues me and lbr, his design looks great.

tokoyumi:

ok au where tenko doesnt become a villain or hero and he’s just a super depressed guy who works as a custodian using his quirk to disintegrate trash

but he makes a friend in izuku and they have a nice brotherly relationship and they’re both p happy

poor tenko he’s got anxiety but he’s working through it :((((

As you may or may not know, I’ve been wanting to do a little comic series for a while now. And I’ve been struggling with where to start. So rather than start with the very complex, plot-heavy AU idea I had, I thought it might be better to start with something a little lighter with more wiggle room to experiment. That’s right! It’s the (incredibly self indulgent) parents AU with shindeku! I haven’t seen this kind of thing with this particular ship, so hopefully people will get a kick out of it!

This will prob be something I will pick at in my free time, and thus will update slowly. I want it to be low pressure! But I hope you enjoy it anyway!

(If you’ve got any questions about this au, hit up my inbox! I’d love to answer them!)

derevosky:

deku and shinsou

parallelisms

– their experience as the prejudiced

– they’re late-bloomers regarding their quirks

– their frustrations regarding reaching a goal, and doing something they know they could do well

– they share a dream, and how they hold on to it despite everything

– how they look up to their mentors, even almost replicating them

– their passion towards heroes (deku’s fanboying to the point of being called an otaku; shinsou’s supposed heated speeches about heroes, implying his closeted fanboying)

– both are smart, and observant especially regarding others’ quirks (although shinsou envies them too)

complimentary

– out-of-luck vs. blessed

– cocky vs. humble

– shinsou’s self-control vs. deku’s recklessness

– by extension, shinsou’s self-control could dangerously turn into self short-selling, while deku’s recklessness could turn into self-deprecating or outright martyrdom which is still harmful if done too much

– shinsou’s self control could compliment deku’s recklessness by influencing his levelheadedness.

– deku could bring out shinsou’s capabilities and confidence with his knowledge and sincere support.

– shinsou is a bitter version of deku; deku is a luckier version of shinsou.

possible plot relevance

– shinsou would help deku instead of the other way around. deku all throughout the series had been helping people, from bakugo to eri. shinsou had no reason to be helped for he had already been training himself toward his goal. bakugo was in danger which was a standard save the distressed trope for a pilot episode; todoroki was having family issues; iida had revenge issues; kota had heroes issues; eri had abuse issues. shinsou’s issue isn’t necessarily big enough for him to need deku’s help as he could handle that on his own already while deku needed shinsou’s help on realizing he needed others’ help more. (why him? deku thought of shinsou after he activated vestiges.)

– deku isn’t going to be the symbol of peace but of hope. he has been saving people by helping them instead of putting himself out as a lone pillar.

– shinsou can be an advocate of those who have dreams. he had been called the star of general department because he strived despite his supposed role.

tl;dr: i really hope they would bring the best out of each other in canon

The Thing About Kacchako

i-write-shit:

With the airing of Episode 22 (S2:E9) of the BNHA anime I knew that there would be a surge of new fans shipping Kacchako; along with that I knew there would be an increase in people voicing a dislike for the ship as well, as it goes with shipping sometimes. I’ve seen quite a number of posts from shippers and non-shippers about why they do/don’t like the ship and the reasonings seem to be pretty even within those given groups, but I wanted to take a moment to address some issues I have with regards to the ship and how fans talk about the characters.
