The main reason I don’t like Kacchako is because of how heteronormative it is.

I mean, I get that making your own personal headcanons and interpretations of a relationship is a huge part of shipping but…

When it comes to the Kacchako fandom it just bothers me because all the stuff they say they see/want to see between Kacchako… already exists between BakuShima

I know it’s kinda lame to pull out the whole “my ship is better than your ship” thing but that isn’t necessarily the direction I mean to take this in

It’s just that Kacchakos will always talk about how much Bakugo respects Ochako and enjoys her company and how she doesn’t take shit from him and isn’t off put by his personality…

But most of that is just headcanons and/or reaches the fandom is making for Bakugo and Ochako despite being 100% canon for Bakugo and Kirishima

It’s never stated that Bakugo actually respects Ochako, or at the very least he doesn’t respect her as a person. During their fight he does say he doesn’t see her as fragile and that there’s no reason for him to hold back against her and that’s cool and all… but afterwards he immediately assumes it was Izuku who came up with the strategy she used because he doesn’t think she’s smart enough to think of it herself. What about this makes you think he respects her?

On the other hand, it was literally stated that Bakugo respects Kirishima. Not just for his fighting ability and/or quirk but as a person. It was explicitly stated that Bakugo sees Kirishima as an equal and is the only person he can accept being saved by. Not only that but he listens to Kirishima and doesn’t get defensive when criticized by him. Kirishima isn’t Bakugo’s doormat or someone he looks down on, he’s Bakugo’s friend who he genuinely cares about. He’s canonically tried to cheer him up twice when Kirishima was upset and helps/inspires him to be more confident.

People also say that Ochako is essential to Bakugo’s character development and helps him to become a better person… and I just have to ask…

Seriously! Where? When did you receive any implication of this being true? As much as I dislike the ship I wouldn’t deny this shit if it was true. But it’s not. It’s 100% false.

Kirishima is the one who thus far has been the most important person to Bakugo. He’s the one who’s been helping Bakugo become a better person with his friendship. He calls Bakugo out when he acts rude and demands respect from him. He also understands Bakugo as a person and goes out of his way to try and help Bakugo be more social so he can have friends to lean on for emotional support. Their friendship has been developed since its introduction and is clearly meant to be important to the character development of both Bakugo and Kirishima since they both become less insecure through their friendship with each other. And that’s canon.

I was also one told by someone that Ochako likes Bakugo as he is and finds his anger to be funny/amusing. And this confuses me because I have no idea where they got this from? I’ve seen Ochako compliment Bakugo for being talented but that never meant anything to me because it’s been shown in the storyline that Bakugo receiving compliments for shallow things is a big cause of his superiority complex. But I’ve never seen Ochako just casually thinking of Bakugo as being a good person she wants to hang out with or anything even remotely close to that

Kirishima however was first shown to be interested in Bakugo because he admired his ambition. When he teamed up with Bakugo in the cavalry battle it wasn’t because he thought of Bakugo as an amazing person but because he knew he’d be striving for the top. Their relationship built from there to the friendship it is now. They genuinely enjoy each other’s company and care about each other. Bakugo inspires Kirishima to have more faith in himself while Kirishima helps Bakugo stop holding himself to impossible standards.

And one thing I saw that confused me was how when Izuku and Ochako are together Bakugo often looks irritated and people interpret that as him being jealous?

I’ll be fair since this is one of those things where it’s more up to how the reader sees it but in all honesty, I myself thought it was clear that Bakugo was just irritated seeing Izuku moving out from underneath his thumb and making friends. I mean he did bully the kid for 10+ years and has always seen him as being beneath him so it’s just logical that seeing him moving on with his life and being happy would anger Bakugo.

All in all, Kacchako just doesn’t appeal to me because there’s really nothing between the two characters. The fandom will go on and on about this amazing relationship the two share when they’re really just copy-and-pasting the relationship between Bakugo and Kirishima.

Ignoring the real actual relationship between two male characters and insisting it’s nothing but friendship while going out of your way to force romance between a male and female character? Yeah that’s peak heteronormativity right there

One Piece ワンピース : The Ōka Shichibukai

“The reason the Grand Line is called the ‘Pirates’ Graveyard’, is because of the Three Great Powers that rule over it. One of them, is the Ōka Shichibukai. They’re seven Pirate Warlords that are officially authorized by the World Government. The Shichibukai inhabit wild regions of the seas and as long as they give a cut of their loot obtained from marauding & pillaging, the World Government sanctions their actions. Other pirates may look down on them and call them ‘Government Dogs’, but they’re among the strongest the Grand Line has to offer!!”

Thus ends my journey with the Shichibukai. It was fun & arduous while it lasted and I had a hell of a great time re-reading some of the most epic and sad moments in One Piece. I’ve compiled all the gifs into a short video in the order of the manga’s storyline, so enjoy this final treat me buckos! Oda has given us so many fantastic characters & memories it’s hard to wait a week for each chapter but it is always worth the wait. I can’t wait to see what else the sensei has in store for us!!

tokoyumi:

HEADCANON: Izuku totally resents his dad because he left his mom for so long and even though he was there to take care of her he always saw her really sad and he can’t forgive anyone who constantly makes his mother cry!

all in all inko midoriya is a wonderful single mother who did her absolute best and raised a gorgeous son who loves and swears to protect her

puddingcatbae:

okay but put your hands together for the real mvp: midoriya’s mom

all might finally points it out in this chapter, but she totally did raise a natural born hero. she’s accidentally crushed izuku’s dreams in the past but she supports him 100%, she cares about him 100%, she’s always watching the tv and cheering him on, she loves boldly and fiercely. she raised him to be good, to follow his dreams, that it’s okay to be different, that he’s still strong no matter what his classmates or bakugou said.

why do you think midoriya kept on scribbling in his notebooks and applying to UA even though his whole life he’s been made out to be a quirkless joke? his mother has been there from the start, playing hero rescue games with him as a child. she’s never once stopped encouraging him, even when they found out about his quirklessness. (we’ve never seens his father in the manga but that’s another story)

so now, even though she’s terrified and doesn’t want to let her baby go, even though all might—the all might!!—literally bowed down and swore on his life to support izuku (dad might #confirmed), she refused to accept that. “please go on living,” she said. that’s not just a good parent speaking. that’s a hero.

midoriya inko is a real hero.
