uraraka: i’m gonna ignore my feelings so i can function better as a hero, because if i’m constantly distracted, i can’t perform at my best. it’s not necessarily that i don’t have feelings for deku anymore, i just understand that my career choice and my studies come first. i should be prioritizing those things.

the fandom: did yall hear smthn??? damn uraraka’s just that typical love interest huh

bnha has done this a million times! a million times! it constantly shoves in your face “here! this is what you think would happen!” and then the character shows you why it doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would have!

uraraka, just like the rest of the fandom, recognizes that the way she views deku is detrimental to her studies (and her character). not necessarily her crush, but the way she acts around deku specifically is distracting. so she pushes it aside by going “okay this will be put on the back burner while i focus on other, more important things.” that’s exactly what should be done! that’s supposed to be a good thing! so why did that entire scene go in one ear and out the other?

On Shinso and Aizawa

lethesomething:

No, this is not a shipping post.

So I have
many feels about episode 20 of Boku no Hero, but one of the
things I would like to talk about here, is the relationship between
Shinso and Aizawa.

We see that Shinso has made it to the duel phase of the Special Olympics. And while his easily excitable friend is
shouting about how weird it is that Shinso made it this far, Aizawa
is basically sitting there going “I TOLD you guys.”
To Aizawa, the
entrance exam was bullshit, because it gave a huge advantage to
people with physical quirks. And Aizawa, of all people, should know
this
.
I mean. A young Aizawa wouldn’t have made it through that
entrance exam.

Aizawa is a hero through and through. He has the heart of one. This man pitted himself against an overwhelming amount of
villains, knowing he probably wasn’t going to make it. He literally put his own body between
a coordinated surprise attack and his students in the hopes of giving them time to
flee.
And he would not have been able to enter UA if he was their age.
His
quirk is to shut off other quirks.
It wouldn’t have worked against the robots of that year’s
exam.

Part of what makes the hero business harder for Aizawa than for, say, Endeavour or All Might is that Aizawa’s quirk is very specialised, and there’s nothing physical about it. He basically had to make up a new martial art using the power of
scarves in order to also have a physical component.
There’s a
reason that Aizawa is always telling his students not to be a
one trick pony and that’s because he had to learn not to be one in
order to even qualify as a decent hero. And he knows not everyone has to struggle that hard.
When
you have a powerful physical quirk, it’s easy to believe that it will
be enough.

So it’s not difficult to imagine that Aizawa recognizes a younger version of himself in Shinso. This is a kid with a Super Powerful quirk, who has some serious trouble finding the right little slot to fit in at UA.
Because that school is not adapted to accommodate his strengths and overcome his specific weaknesses.

There’s a panel in the later chapters
where Aizawa is talking to Shinsho and you kinda feel like they could bond. These two have a lot in
common, after all. They both have some sleep schedule issues, judging by the bags under their eyes, they
both like cats and they share a common perspective on the world of
quirks.
We don’t really know Aizawa’s background (yet), but it
wouldn’t surprise me if he really, truly gets what drives
Shinso.
And honestly, I hope he starts mentoring him. Because Shinso deservers better.

Best Boy Patrick from RedRobin89′s fic The Long Way Around. In which Izuku doesn’t get OFA, but takes up martial arts and enters UA into Gen Ed Class 1-C, where he makes great friends because he deserves all the friendship.

I wanted to practice a little character designing, and I love my good glowing son! Two birds, one stone.

Ngl by the description alone, I always imagined him looking like Makoto from Free. I had to sit down and design him so I wouldn’t keep wholesale inserting Makoto into Patrick’s scenes in my mind ffffff

This is amazing art and there aren’t enough words to explain how much I love this. Patrick looks SO GOOD and he is absolutely the best boy. Oh my goodness thank you so much! Amazing, wonderful work!

The one thing I hate about people shipping Deku (usually with todoroki or bakugo) is that I see a lot of people make Deku kind of a wimp and a crybaby? Like ok yes deku IS a cry baby, but he also stands up for himself (and others) and is really heckin strong physically and strong willed! He’s not a scared waifish little maiden and I wish people would stop writing/drawing him that way, it’s seriously a disservice to his character.

YES

the thing that gets me most about Kirishima’s hero outfit is that. like. he really doesn’t need one

especially not one as ridiculous as that

b/c his skin is basically armor

but no. he wants to look super manly. he wants to wear the weird face mask and the bigass shoulder gear things and whatever that thing is that goes across his chest and that ass-cape thing (that i imagine would easily get caught on stuff) and he wants to look half like he’s hiking in the snow and half whatever the fuck the upper body part of his outfit is supposed to represent

like he really doesn’t need any of this, he just wants to look cool and his idea of looking cool looks absolutely ridiculous

#fuckin imagine #hes in some interview #and theyre just like kirishima boy tell us about your outfit #what equipment and modifiers did you add so your costume can help you on the job while also keeping you safe #AND HE JUST FUCKIN STARTS SWEATING BECAUSE HOW DOES HE STRAIGHT UP TELL THEM ITS FOR *aesthetic* (via @babubettybat)

PRETTY MUCH

HIS ENTIRE OUTFIT IS BASICALLY JUST FOR THE AESTHETIC  B/C HE WANTS TO LOOK COOL AND NOTHING THERE HAS ANY ACTUAL PURPOSE OR USE OR ANYTHING

IT’S JUST

AESTHETIC
