Once Lup and Barry are fully trained, Kravitz slips back into his old goofs that he pulled when he worked alone. Both liches are surprised, astounded and mildly impressed by the kind of shit he pulls.

First time they hear him use a shitty accent? Hysterics. They start doing this too. Soon Lup is talking in a horrible Jamaican accent and Barry won’t stop talking like a cowboy. One of the necromancers turned themselves in when Barry spat out an amalgamation of consonants and apostrophes as an entire sentence.

Then there’s the golems. Kravitz taught them how to make golems but he didn’t tell them that you can use anything. He once made one out of bread (don’t ask why it was in this dirty cave, or why its all Wonderbread in a shopping trolley). Lup and Barry now fight over stupid materials to use as golems.

Kravitz being super chill and acting like he has all of the power in any given situation and making deals and bets for the hell of it. Lup and Barry thought Kravitz was a rule follower? Hell no. They have witnessed Kravitz letting 10 necromancers off easy because they won at poker. The gang was once bound with unbreakable chains and Kravitz just fucking yells out in a vampire voice “now if you keep this up I’m gonna have to lengthen your sentence”.

Not even mentioning his dodgy ass tactics. This guy thinks that imitating a god and hoping for the best is a-okay, what other shit does he pull? Kravitz will, for no apparent reason, appear behind a necromancer full spooky skeleton mode to scare the shit out of him as an interrogation tactic. He has on multiple occasions asked Lup and Barry to start doing a cheesy dance so that he can deliver the killing blow from behind while they’re distracted. He once caught a necromancer by seducing him and offering to take him out to coffee at that moment but just teleported him into a cell in the Eternal Stockade.

Kravitz may be suave and smooth when he’s just chilling but he will give no shits when he’s reaping.

okay everyone always has it so that lup and barry are the ones who make kravitz open up and get ridiculous during missions but what if it was actually the other way around

lup and barry are pretty serious about the job when they first take it. they knew what a huge thing becoming liches were and that by every right they should be locked up in ghost jail forever. their research into necromancy has shown them the absolute horrors it can do and how it can corrupt, and they want to prove that giving them this extra chance wasn’t a mistake, they aren’t going to make light of the horrors they’re dealing with here

and then on their first mission kravitz breaks out the cockney accent, calls the necromancer a ‘fucking creep like seriously’ and wages the necromancer’s assistant’s soul on a game of backgammon and loses because he doesn’t actually know how to play that

I think that in their earlier years on the Starblaster, when they’re getting to know each other, Barry and Lup try to out-goth each other.

“One time when I was a kid we found a rat skeleton on the road and I made earrings out of its bones.”

“That’s nothing one time I brought a cat back to life in my parent’s garage.”

Taako thinks they’re both dumb nerds and refuses to participate except to confirm to Barry that yes, Lup did one light a skeleton on fire, sorry Barold she’s more goth than you this time around.

And then they become liches and Taako is like “Okay, you both win. You’ve tied. You’re the most goth people in existence. Please don’t do anything more goth than this, I’m begging you.”

They have a beautiful goth-wedding and everyone cries.

And that pretty much ends the whole thing until Taako goes ahead and marries the Grim Reaper like “HAH! SUCK IT! You BOTH lose! I’m more goth than either of you will ever be! I win, assholes!” and lords it over them for all of time.

people always seem to headcanon Lup as the older twin, but here I submit that Taako is actually older. for one thing, i think Justin auto-plays characters as The Oldest Sibling because that’s where he’s coming from, but within the story itself, Taako…

• grabs Lup’s hand to get them the fuck outta there when the Hunger hits the animal planet; Lup wants to stay and fight but Taako is nope’ing for them both
• quickly volunteers himself and Lup to destroy the crystal on the robot planet – a very Older Sibling thing to do
• gives love advice to Lup’s future boyfriend
• so much of The Best Day ever involves him cooking for Lup / taking care of her in a very older sibling way
• his reaction to finding out Lup was gonna become a lich strikes me as very big brothery. he was extremely nervous for her but hid it so she wouldn’t worry, and supported her right to make the decision despite his fears

anyway, obviously they’re twins and it’s a kind of a moot point, but so many people headcanon Lup as being the more put-together, responsible twin, even though Taako spends most of their on-air time together feeding and looking after her lol. I have the sense that pre-stolen-century, Lup would stumble home late at night after starting several bar fights and Taako would be like “have you drank enough water?”
