Tarvek tries to discourage them from bringing people to Sturmhalten, because he can’t protect them from his father. He does sneak out to visit any Jägers who come through, though.

Tarvek… still takes a while to come to the conclusion that wasps and mind control are bad. He knows the Jägers hate them, but the Jägers also hate his blood family, and the Storm King, and everyone who keeps the Heterodynes in. So he kind of assumes that the hatred of wasps falls in the same category, the one of ‘we really are on different sides, much as we love each other.’
When what happens to Anevka happens, though, he calls for help from them, and the Baron descends upon them.

You know what really Gets me is that people really want to believe Fuyumi is the one of the siblings who wasn’t traumatized and loves her father. Like, people don’t question whether Natsuo or Todoroki hate him, mostly because with them being male characters they’re allowed to express hatred for their abusive father (because we all know Horikoshi is a misogynistic bastard who thought giving a wife who was beat into submission a flower eliminated all past abuse), but with Fuyumi every single fucking panel she appears people make some discourse about her. Despite knowing that canonically, she became a teacher because of the guilt she feels over being unable to save Todoroki from their father.
Yall are fucked up when it comes to female victims of abuse.
I wanna add, even if she expressed her will to “forgive” her father in the next chapters, I want you to use the little critical thinking skills yall have to realize that It’s Bad Writing. The entire Endeavour redemption arc is. Todoroki being sad that his father almost died is OOC. Rei expressing her wish for her husband to be forgiven over a fucking flower is OOC.
If you can write 1939303 meta about the Dabi Todoroki theory and how much HE hates his father, you can show a little empathy to Fuyumi once in a while.

i feel like cal was the source of the idea that dave had to be the perfect man to be sburb’s “protagonist” as we see caliborn wants when he draws all those shitty comics but i still think dave would’ve faced toxic masculinity, emotional abuse, and even some level of sexual abuse had cal not been present.
hal turing tested made a really good post a while ago that he reblogged recently about how hal is dirk with everything that kept him from being bro (read: his friends, just about any source of physical joy) taken from him, and we see that because of this hal lashes out frequently in fear and anger with the only tools he has

i feel like the trans-universal qualities of dirk are, like, autism, gay, self-aware (to an extent, and when not inhibited by an evil puppet), and low empathy/inability to understand and/or analyze other people’s feelings and abilities the way he can his own, and with this worst-case scenario dirk, all of those just make him unable to modulate his actions towards dave (or anyone else) so cal kinda did it for him
