I’ve been waiting for this post all my life

Source?

This article says that Pink/boy blue/girl was in vogue prior to WWII, but claims that the post-war shift was due to “consumer interests,” whatever the fuck that’s supposed to mean. NPR confirms it, but doesn’t offer a reason why, just saying that it was tied to consumerism and seen in products produced for girls and women.

The yellow star of David is the most famous marker used by the Nazis for the victims of concentration camps, but the pink triangle was fairly prominent too. It was used to label homosexuals (specifically homosexual men), You can read more on the wiki page here, or on the general page for the Nazi concentration camp badges here.

Couldn’t find anything that connected the two, though. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were, but. *shrugs*.
