Oh boy. Oooooh boy. I really donāt want to answer this. Iām gonna be hated so much.
Also, why a devil emoji? Is that you, Jelly? Do you realize what youāre doing, asking me this? Are you doing this on purpose? Are you tormenting me, Jelly? I know itās you! Get a f-ing tumblr already so I can talk to you here dammit!
Itās a little hard to come up with characters I genuinely hate or even just plain donāt like but imma do my best, ok? Also, pls donāt hate me. I know a lot of you will, but itās just an opinion YOU DONāT HAVE TO AGREE OKAY
Endeavor / Todoroki Enji
I think this one is obvious, and I doubt I need to go into this in detail so Iām just going to list off a summary. Heās a grown man with the power of one who throws tantrums like a toddler complete with disregard of othersā safety, most especially with his own children. Itās hard to think that heās able to get away with the way he acts and somehow ends up as no. 2 hero. He doesnāt really seem to care about being a hero at all and despite that he wants to be no. 1 in everyoneās eyes, he doesnāt actually do much to get there?? He doesnāt care about his fans and if anyone badmouths him he just kinda regards them as trash and it doesnāt matter. That heās somehow gotten to number two hero makes me despair over the state of bnha society,
but not talking about that. Contradictory in all the worst ways, and as a character, heās⦠kinda boring? What he wants is obvious and plain and his ways of getting what he wants are just as much so.Mineta Minoru
A lot of you will say, āwell, thatās a given.ā But I didnāt go into this fandom intending to hate him. I had no clue why everyone seemed to hate him even when I first saw him. I thought, wow what a tasteless costume. Why would anyone even⦠But I didnāt have any reason to dislike him. I was a little bothered by it, bc wow disgusting and Iād joke about hating him, but I was mostly indifferent to him until the sports festival arc.
He hung onto Momo in a really inappropriate way. On one hand, they were in a competition where heās expected to do whatever he has to. On the other hand, theyāre on national television and I would at least expect a school to want their students to give a better showing, something more befitting heroes considering, ya know, these kids are the next gen of them.
I remember coming across someone saying that if it were real life, Mineta would have been expelled by now. I donāt agree. If it were real life, at least I hope, teachers would have stepped in and done something about it by now, so it shouldnāt have gotten this bad. His attitude isnāt suitable for a hero who kids are going to look up to, even if he doesnāt end up at the top.
I donāt think heās totally hopeless. If he were to respect women, and other people in general, I think he could do a lot better and become a really good hero. My biggest problem with him is that he seems to only be there as comic relief. Heās made a joke out of constantly and the only time heās really gotten any kudos was during the final exams, but I still donāt really like him that much. I wish Horikoshi would do more with him, but as it is, I feel grossed out whenever he comes into the picture.
Slime Villain
Though a minor character, what he actually does is just so creepy and violating. I know Iām not the only one to think so, but it really bothered me. I especially didnāt like the part where All Might was just going to leave Izuku after heād been attacked?? Like, I know his time limit was over but he could have at least told him to go to the hospital to make sure he was okay. He could have told him to stay put and sent someone to check up on him, right? (But Iām not getting into the problems with hero society rn remember?) The slime villain was the ābeginningā of everything but itās not him being a villain thatās so troublesome; itās what he does as a villain.
Bakugou Katsuki
This is the one Iām afraid to put down. I know there are so many people who really like him. I donāt absolutely hate him, and I certainly like him better than Mineta, but heās gotta go on this list. I think a big reason so many people like him is that of all the characters who do some appalling things, heās one that Horikoshi shows so much potential to be better.
But, to me, he kinda comes across as a whiny brat. Heās been told all his life that heās the best among his peers, and when someone is told something over and over again itās easy to believe it. Itās like he has a simultaneous inferiority complex and superiority complex at the same time. Some people point out that the way he acts is actually similar to a villain, and it is, but no one in-story has ever actually given him a reason to think so. Itās a society that rewards violence so someone with a powerful and violent quirk is obviously bound for heroism.
But not going there. On top of that, heās really good at a lot of what he does anyway, from grades to the meaningless games that little kids play, so that just boosts his ego.His reasons for hurting others and for wanting to be a hero are just so superficial, and it galls me that such an intelligent character hasnāt seemed to actually consider this. He also gets angry whenever anyone does anything he considers as āchallengingā his place at the top but he also gets angry that heās surrounded by people he considers āweakā.
He has a lot of room to grow, but it irritates me so much that he lets his pride get in the way of that.
Monoma Neito
I have a love/hate for this kid. His sarcasm, intelligence, mean spirit and contrariness are things that I often love in characters, but his inferiority complex makes it harder to like him. I find it kinda funny the way he puts himself down if it means he can put class 1-A down too, but itās also off-putting. I think most of the reason I dislike him is that most of what we see from him is him being disagreeable. Iād love to see more of him, and the rest of class 1-B, especially if we got to see him getting along with someone.
