Concerning bnha, and thoughts/headcannons/theories on midoriya’s dad. I’ve looked through tags and people just don’t have much to say, I like to think the revile of his dad will mark the transition from training to be a hero to being a hero

tahwraven:

Part of the reason no one says anything is that there’s so little known about him that we can really only speculate.

  1. He took a work post abroad.
  2. His quirk allows him to breath fire.
  3. His name is Hisashi, which is a reference to hisashiburi, a way to say that it’s been a long time [since I’ve seen you].

That’s… literally three things. The second will possibly play some part in the story later on, but doesn’t give us any factual information except about his quirk. I’ve considered the part where Inko says, “my husband’s quirk is fire breath,” a lot, mostly because of the way she says it. All those stories people write about Toshinori being Izuku’s actual father, or something along those lines, make sense when you look at her body language and way she says it. “My husband” instead of “Izuku’s father,” for example, and she puts her hand up to her face and turns her body in a way that could be attributed to #1, that he’s been gone awhile and their relationship has become distant, but could also be interpreted as a sign of shame or reluctance – as might be the case if her husband is not actually her child’s father. There’s also the possibility that Izuku is Hisashi’s son, but that Hisashi might come to doubt that because his quirk is nothing like either of his parents.

I highly doubt that’s the way the story is legit gonna go, but hope springs eternal, right? Certainly not going to stop my headcanons.

He wasn’t ever shown in scenes set in the past, and Izuku doesn’t really seem at all bothered by his father’s absence, so between #1 & #3, it can be inferred that he’s been gone long enough that Izuku doesn’t even remember him.

Tbh, I really don’t think there’s going to be much about him even when he does show up, not unless it really does have some impact on Izuku’s journey to becoming a hero. Horikoshi has added little side facts and stories to expand on the characters and for the sake of world building, but he doesn’t do that much. Most of what we see is, as stated at the beginning of the series, how Izuku “became a great hero.”

Without knowing more about him and, perhaps more importantly, what his work actually is, it’s a little hard to foreshadow how his return is going to impact Izuku and the story. If he’s secretly a villain, we can all figure that yes, actually, he’s probably going to play a significant part. Likewise, if he has anything to do with law enforcement or being on the side of the ‘good guys,’ he’ll at least be noteworthy. I’m hoping there won’t be any resentment on Izuku’s part for him being
gone for so long. He’d be perfectly justified if he did, but it seems a
little tropey to me.

Since we don’t actually know anything about him, it’s easy to come up with headcanons that make him a bad guy, especially considering what little we do have. I’m perfectly fine with that, atm. Dad Might is still the best thing in the universe, and he’ll win every time.
