Ok but what if “Master of Death” is a title along the lines of “Master of Ceremonies” or “Maitre de” rather than some position above one of the most primal laws of existence. A supernatural service position, essentially, and Harry as the inheritor of this position is tasked with fixing glitches involving people or things that ought to be dead but aren’t, like Voldemort. 

What if it’s the Wizarding World equivalent of the Abhorsen.
