So I went and reread a bit of the Si Vales Valeo plot, and I just noticed… at the end, Tarvek (and Gil, and really everyone) has no idea what Agatha’s plans are. Tarvek is starting to question what he was given when they grab him and hook him up to the machines, and then he turns around and Agatha is just… floating. Surrounded by energy, etc, goddess-like. We know it’s because of the dyne water, but no one else but Higgs and the Castle know that.
Gil’s semiconscious at best, and I can see everyone else just shrugging any going “spark stuff, who knows.” But Tarvek should probably have at some point wondered how his crush apparently turned into an actual goddess, even if it was only temporarily.
But apparently instead he just sort of went “Agatha is an actual, real life goddess with divine power. I knew it” and never questioned it at all. Tarvek you ridiculous romantic.
