alright but what if every single one of the harry potter main characters eventually have a kid that they name “Fred” without knowing anyone else also did this (so now there’s fred potter, fred weasley, fred longbottom, etc) except they’re friends so all their kids are friends and as soon as one of them gets in trouble someone’s yelling “FRED” and 3-6 kids are turning around going “WHAT DID I DO” and I think that’s exactly the kind of chaotic legacy Fred would’ve liked to leave

But no, the first time it’s an accident. Fred Weasley and Fred Longbottom are born scat days apart and due to the rush and chaos the births caused no one thought to check what the other baby boy was called and well mum calls him Freddie anyway so where’s the harm.

But then baby boy Potter comes along and Harry and Ginny get into such a row because the only name they could agree on was Fred and that’s already taken. But George walks by and comments how Fred would have loved this. All of this stupid fighting and those silly prank wars which had lit up the Burrow just like they used too over his name. George doesn’t think he’s smiled so much since Fred has died and well that settles it doesn’t it?

Fred Sirius Potter was thus named. For pranksters must always stick together right?

But the next Fred, see he was special too because he came with his very own Georg(i)e. When Fred Wood was born just seconds after his already screaming sister, Oliver knew there was no other names he could give his children. Already he could imagine the horror on the other houses faces when the new set of twin beaters ruled the Quidditch pitch.

And well Rolf was unsure when Luna picked the name Fred but soon grew to love it. Fredderick Scamander had a nice ring to it and really Fred was such a nice name. It wasn’t until he met the rest of the bunch a few years later that maybe he regretted his decision.
