is there any angsty things in your villain izuku au. I’m in a mood

simkjrs:

there’s this ask about how izuku would react if he was well and truly trapped with no way to escape; this ask contemplating izuku’s possible past, which gets more angsty if you think about it too long; inko learning her son isn’t dead; possibilities regarding his quirk, some of which are angsty if you think about them hard enough; and izuku technically being homeless. i’ve been pretty light handed with the heavy / angsty side of the villain!izuku au, so you’ll probably have to read between the lines a bit.

most of the angst stems from the fact that, in this villain au, izuku had an unsafe and unstable childhood, so he has no sense of safety or security, and constantly feels the need to overcompensate & cover up his weaknesses; because of that, he masks his true intentions and intentionally keeps other people off balance around him so they can’t hurt him; however, since he’s constantly putting on new masks and redirecting people’s attention, he can’t form any real & genuine bonds of trust & friendship. no one really knows the real izuku. he’s lonely and insecure, impossibly so, and people only catch glimpses of it because he’ll never admit it aloud.
