Lmao ouch, though Iida probably would have still faced Mei in the tournament any though he might have had a better idea of how to handle her. But you know, I don’t think I noticed how punished Iida was in that arc. We always think of Tensei’s injury but he reeally got beat down on live TV. No wonder he was in a mood.
During the Cavalry Battle, Tenya refused to join Izuku’s team on the basis of wanting to grow on his own and helps Shouto’s team win. Then he gets humiliated by Mei in the Tournament, his brother gets injured, he goes on a revenge quest to fight Stain and ends up involving Izuku and Shouto and ends up injured himself. It’s sorta like the universe punished him for refusing to join Deku’s team.
