there’s a reason stupid loud (courageous, bold, caring) naruto is the one who gets through to him more often than not. when he’s left to actually pick who to be around, the team he picks for himself are all ridiculous, wild messes in one way or another. i think it’s too speculative to get into WHY exactly he prefers these people, but i think it’s very visible that it’s good for him
