Madara got to watch Naruto Talk no Jutsu the entire Uchiha Clan into accepting Naruto and Sakura as a package deal with Sasuke, on top of shutting up all the protests regarding Izuna’s determination to marry Kanna. Madara has an inborn proficiency at spite driven xanatos scheming and recognizes a useful skill when he sees one. Madara then figures out the basics and goes from there.

So after Izuna’s near-death experience via Hirashin and Tobirama’s sword, Madara gets into a shouting match with Hashirama over making peace, and Madara whips out the Talk no Jutsu. The major theme mostly being that Hashirama is all talk no action regarding making peace, and an oathbreaker. Because they swore to one another on their friendship that they would never lose another brother, and what exactly was Tobirama doing landing a killing blow on Izuna if not following Hashirama’s orders? Basically Hashirama doesn’t get to punch his way to peace this time, and the world is honestly better for it.
