rose lalonde tries to become successful at everything she does and pretends to not make a big deal out of it because she wants to have some kind of recognition from her mother that she’s worthwhile and important or just special to her. meanwhile mom is busy trying to drink herself to death because she knows that if rose thinks positively of her, it’ll just make her inevitable death so much harder on her daughter.
