im really sad that kishimoto didnt go with the concept art for hiruzen where he was just a fucking dog because if he had then the scene just before tobirama died would have been absolutely incredible.  like he’s looking at the members of his squad and he’s like “ok.  tonight is my last night on this earth.  i need to pick a new hokage who will do the village justice.  i want to make hashirama proud”, so he looks at danzo and then he sees a stray dog wandering around in the distance and he’s like “him.  that dog.  that dog will be the third hokage” and then the next 100 episodes of shippuden are based around danzo being upset that his rival, a stray dog, became hokage instead of him
