i feel like shanks would be pretty oblivious as a captain and would probably not understand the gravity of a situation until benn pointed it out to him djsjxirif (kind of like luffy y’know???)

even though its been 10+ years shanks often FORGETS he only has one arm. homeboy be trying to grab stuff with his left hand and going “….. oh” when he realizes its not there

ok but. he has the best singing voice the world has even seen???? shanks loves to sing & he’s effortlessly good at it. id say the red haired pirates in general love to sing. add getting as drunk as a skunk to that and you get shanks being kicked out from as many pubs as one possibly could get kicked out from

shanks often finds himself referring to luffy as his son & getting funny looks and giggles from his crew whenever that happens

not to get too nsfw in here but. let’s just say shanks has legendary abilities other than swordsmanship and haki.

shanks has tried to jump into water to rescue crewmates. many times. even though his swimming has been compromised due to the loss of his arm. like i said, he forgets things. the result is always benn having to jump after him & rescuing both the crewmate and shanks. he always scolds shanks for being such an airhead but he knows it’ll get him nowhere.

shanks is extremely protective over his crewmates. even the younger, less powerful ones. i mean, we all saw how he defended coby back in marineford; can you imagine what he’d do for the people who are like family to him?

shanks is the best yonko and thats not a headcanon, thats straight up canon
